How to Get Hired at Amazon Africa, Deloitte and PwC as a Graduate
Deloitte East Africa kept its 2026 graduate application open from 23 March to 24 April. Online aptitude tests followed in May, manager interviews in June, partner interviews and offers in July. Miss that window and the next one is a year away, which is why a guide on how to get hired at Amazon Africa, Deloitte or PwC has to start with the calendar before it gets to the tests.
This guide lays out what each employer puts in front of a graduate, stage by stage, using the firms’ own pages where they exist and saying so plainly where only candidate reports do. Amazon, Deloitte and PwC do not assess you the same way, and preparing for one as if it were another is how strong candidates lose offers. You will also see which “Amazon Nigeria recruitment” pages to close immediately.

Why one preparation plan fails at all three firms
Start with a misconception that costs people money. Search for “Amazon Nigeria recruitment” and you will find pages promising entry requirements, application forms and portals. Africa Check, the fact checking organisation, looked at Facebook posts claiming Amazon was recruiting agents in all 36 Nigerian states. It found a page called “Amazon Nigeria LTD” with 45 likes, a N2,500 registration fee, and no company of that name in the Corporate Affairs Commission database. Amazon’s public relations manager for sub-Saharan Africa told Africa Check it was a scam. That check dates from 2021, but the pattern has not gone away, and Amazon’s own fraud notice for India states that the company charges no fee at any stage of recruitment.
What Amazon actually runs in Africa shows up on its careers site. On 14 October 2026 the South Africa listings included corporate roles in Cape Town, virtual customer service roles, and a 2026 software development engineer posting open to people expected to graduate between October 2025 and September 2026, or who graduated within the last 24 months. Some postings also name the right to work in South Africa as a condition. For most African graduates, then, Amazon is a Cape Town route with right to work as the first filter, not a national scheme.
The second misconception is that the Big Four run identical funnels. They do not even run one funnel per firm. Deloitte East Africa puts online aptitude tests first. Deloitte South Africa’s process page says psychometric or skills tests, where a service line requires them, come within two weeks of the assessment centre, so after your day of interviews rather than before. A candidate who spends three months on numerical reasoning for a South African service line that never asks for it has prepared for the wrong thing.
Eligibility and requirements at a glance
Requirements differ by country, so read the row that matches the passport and degree you hold. The table covers the 2026 cycle, the most recent one with published terms.
| Employer and route | Window or timing | What the posting asks for |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon, Cape Town corporate and graduate roles | No single annual deadline; each posting has its own life | Graduate software role: graduating between October 2025 and September 2026, or graduated within 24 months. Some roles require the right to work in South Africa. |
| Deloitte East Africa (Kenya) | Applications 23 March to 24 April 2026 | Second Upper Division degree, graduated in the preceding three years, KCSE overall B with a B in Mathematics and English, Kenyan citizen or authority to work. |
| Deloitte South Africa | Screening from February, feedback aimed within three weeks | Set per programme in each advert. Assessment days generally run from 08:00 to 14:00. |
| PwC Nigeria Graduate Trainee Programme | Closed 14 April 2026 | NYSC completed, minimum second class or equivalent, five O’Level credits at one sitting including English and Mathematics. Abuja openings were for Assurance only. |
| PwC Kenya Graduate Associate | Closed 31 May 2026 | Two year fixed term contract in Assurance or Consulting and Risk. |
Two wording details decide who gets shortlisted. Deloitte Kenya’s rule that you graduated in the preceding three years means a 2023 graduate would not qualify for the 2026 round, whatever the grade. PwC Nigeria requires NYSC to be completed, so a final year student cannot apply until service is done. Deloitte Kenya also says it set minimum entry requirements for shortlisting because of the volume of applications, which means grades are checked before anyone reads your motivation.
Test by test: how to get hired at Amazon Africa, Deloitte and PwC
Here is the stage order each employer publishes. Where a detail comes from candidate reports rather than the employer, the text says so.
| Stage | Amazon | Deloitte East Africa | PwC Nigeria |
|---|---|---|---|
| First | Online application on amazon.jobs; an assessment arrives during the application or after it, depending on the role | Online form, then numeracy and critical reasoning tests plus a personality assessment (May 2026) | Application, then the Cornerstone Assessment |
| Second | Graduate software role: coding 70 minutes, Workstyles 15, Work Simulation 60, feedback survey 5. Internship: about 90 minutes, no simulation listed | Group assessments and case studies, behavioural (May 2026) | SHL assessments |
| Interview | Phone interview, then an interview loop that includes a Bar Raiser | One on one competency interview with managers (June 2026) | First level interview |
| Final | Loop debrief and decision | Partner interview, then offer (July 2026) | Partner interview, offer, resumption |
| Test vendor named | None | None | SHL named; Cornerstone not described |
What the Amazon stages measure
Amazon’s online assessment page for software roles says the test evaluates coding skills, technical problem solving and the Leadership Principles, and that no Amazon specific knowledge is needed. The Workstyles part is a questionnaire. The Work Simulation is the unusual one: according to candidate reports, it puts you inside a mock workplace where your choices are scored against the principles. Amazon does not publish that interface, so treat the description as unconfirmed. Take it on a laptop or desktop with a webcam. Amazon says print screen ends your session, copying and pasting is discouraged, and your browser use is logged. Depending on the country, the assessment arrives in one or two parts, so read your invitation email before you plan your evening.
What the Deloitte stages measure
Deloitte East Africa’s how to apply page lists numeracy and critical reasoning tests alongside a personality assessment. The first two are timed ability tests. The personality assessment has no correct answer, only consistency. The group assessment is where the Deloitte graduate program starts watching how you behave beside other applicants, not only what you say. Neither the Kenya page nor the South Africa page names a test vendor, so practise the skill rather than a brand.
What the PwC stages measure
PwC Nigeria’s graduate portal and advert name SHL assessments as stage three. The advert does not describe the Cornerstone stage; candidate sites call it a situational judgement and personality test, which PwC has not confirmed. PwC Kenya’s careers page describes an online competency assessment followed by a first level interview. PwC’s UK graduate page adds a warning worth taking seriously anywhere in the network: applications are withdrawn where responses are not the candidate’s own work.
Free tools to prepare your application
Two pieces on this site will save you time before any of these portals open. The first is our guide to building an ATS friendly CV, which includes a downloadable Word template. Amazon, Deloitte and PwC all run applications through online systems, so a CV that parses cleanly matters before a human reads a word of it.
The second is our application tracking system for students, a simple method for logging each portal, deadline, assessment invitation and recruiter contact. It matters more here than for scholarships, because three employers means three calendars, and an Amazon assessment invitation carries a deadline of its own that Amazon does not announce in advance.
If you are aiming at software roles, our tech internships guide compares how Google, Microsoft and Meta handle eligibility and class year rules, useful context for reading an Amazon posting. And if the job you want sits outside your passport country, read how to convert a student visa to a work visa after graduation first, because right to work is a first filter at several of these employers.
Five tips that follow how each stage is scored
These are built from the firms’ published guidance and from patterns candidates report, not from a single success story.
1. Build your year around the windows
The 2026 windows ran from March to June: PwC Nigeria closed on 14 April, Deloitte East Africa on 24 April, PwC Kenya on 31 May. We found no published 2027 dates by 14 October 2026, but the pattern points to spring. Use October to February for practice and paperwork, because Deloitte Kenya asks for scanned academic documents with the form, and a missing transcript is a cheap way to lose a place. Put each date in your tracker the day a portal publishes it.
2. Practise the test you will actually sit
Match the practice to the firm: numeracy and critical reasoning for Deloitte Kenya, timed numerical and verbal reasoning for the PwC Nigeria SHL stage, situational judgement and Leadership Principle stories for Amazon. Deloitte names no vendor, so a brand specific course is a guess. Short, frequent sessions on percentages, ratios and reading tables beat one weekend of cramming.
3. Write Amazon stories in the first person, with numbers
Amazon’s published interview advice asks for the STAR structure of situation, task, action and result, and wants your own contribution rather than your team’s. Prepare two or three real stories for each principle you can match, not one story reused. Include one failure and what you changed afterwards, since Amazon says it values learning from mistakes. If you cannot put a number on a result, say how you knew it worked.
4. Do the assessment alone, on your own machine
Amazon says it expects your coding to be your own, logs browser use and ends sessions that use print screen. PwC’s UK page states that evidence of undermining its process leads to disqualification. Assume the same rule everywhere, because a borrowed answer costs you the application faster than a weak score does.
5. Apply only through the employer’s own portal, and never pay
Amazon applications go through amazon.jobs, PwC Nigeria through its graduate portal, Deloitte through its country careers page. Amazon’s fraud notices say it charges no fee at any stage, while the Nigerian posts Africa Check examined asked for N2,500 and a WhatsApp number. If anyone asks you to pay for a slot, a test or a uniform, stop. Check the sender’s email domain against the company before you answer anything.
Frequently asked questions about how to get hired at Amazon Africa, Deloitte and PwC
Does Amazon hire graduates in Nigeria?
As far as we could verify on 14 October 2026, Amazon’s careers site shows African roles in South Africa rather than a Nigerian graduate scheme. Africa Check found no evidence of Amazon recruitment in Nigeria when it checked in 2021, and the pages claiming otherwise asked for fees. Treat any page offering an Amazon Nigeria application form as unverified until you find the same role on amazon.jobs.
How do I get through the Amazon online assessment as a graduate?
If you are working out how to get hired at Amazon Africa, read your invitation email first, because the structure depends on the country and the role. For the graduate software role Amazon documents a 70 minute coding assessment, a 15 minute Workstyles Assessment, a 60 minute Work Simulation and a 5 minute feedback survey, so set aside up to two hours. The internship version is about 90 minutes with no simulation listed. Finish the feedback survey, since Amazon says skipping it delays your results.
What does the Deloitte graduate program test in Kenya?
Deloitte East Africa’s 2026 process began with online numeracy and critical reasoning tests alongside a personality assessment in May. Group assessments and case studies followed, then one on one manager interviews in June and partner interviews in July. The Deloitte graduate program in South Africa differs, with a telephone screening and an assessment day that generally runs from 08:00 to 14:00.
Does PwC Nigeria use SHL tests?
PwC Nigeria’s 2026 advert lists SHL assessments as stage three, after a Cornerstone Assessment and before the first level interview. PwC does not describe the Cornerstone stage in the advert, and candidate sites call it a situational judgement and personality test, which is unconfirmed. A partner interview, the offer stage and resumption follow. Practise timed numerical and verbal reasoning for the SHL stage.
What degree class do I need for Deloitte or PwC?
PwC Nigeria asked for a minimum of second class or its equivalent, completed NYSC, and five O’Level credits at one sitting including English and Mathematics. Deloitte Kenya asked for a Second Upper Division degree, graduation within the preceding three years, and a KCSE overall B with a B in Mathematics and English. Both sets of rules come from 2026 postings, so check the current advert.
When should I start for the 2027 intake?
Start now. The 2026 windows closed on 14 April (PwC Nigeria), 24 April (Deloitte East Africa), 31 May (PwC Kenya) and 30 June (PwC South Africa’s 2027 programmes), and we found no published 2027 dates by 14 October 2026. Amazon has no single graduate deadline, so apply early in each posting’s life. Spend the months until spring on timed practice, a clean CV and your documents.
How this guide was checked. We cross-checked this page on 14 October 2026 against Amazon’s software role assessment page, Deloitte East Africa’s how to apply page, Deloitte South Africa’s graduate recruitment process page and PwC Nigeria’s 2026 graduate advert. Where a claim rests on candidate reports or third party sites instead of the employer, the text says so. Windows and formats change by country and year, so confirm dates in your own invitation email before relying on this page.
Before the 2027 windows open
Three things matter most. The calendar decides who gets tested at all, and most 2026 windows closed between April and June. Each firm scores you differently: Amazon against its Leadership Principles, Deloitte East Africa through timed tests and then group work, PwC Nigeria through Cornerstone and SHL stages. And only the employer’s own portal is real, because nobody legitimate charges you to apply.
Your next move is a CV that survives software screening, so start with our ATS friendly CV guide and Word template, then log every date in your tracker. Bookmark this page, share it with a friend who needs it, and explore more opportunities on opportunitycrack.com. Spend October to March practising the right test for the right firm, and you will be ready the day the first portal opens.
